Buffet, Plated, Family-Style or Stations?

Is a Buffet Cheaper Than a Plated Meal?

Often, but not always. A buffet needs fewer servers but about 10–15% more food, because guests serve themselves. A plated dinner uses less food but needs about one server per 10–12 guests. Family-style sits in between. For small events a buffet is usually cheaper; for 150+ guests, compare full quotes for both.

Buffets for 100 guests take about 30–45 minutes to get everyone served with two lines. Plated dinners serve all tables in about 15–20 minutes per course.
